New Delhi: Team India captain Virat Kohli has added another big achievement. Wisden cricketeralmanac has declared him the best ODI cricketer of the last decade. Virat has scored more than 11,000 runs at an average of 60, excelling in this decade. He has also scored 42 centuries in ODIs. Kohli is the third Indian player to win the award after master blaster Sachin Tendulkar and world champion Team India captain Kapil Dev.
Let share us that Wisden Cricketers Almanac announces the award every ten years. In the meantime, the title is given to the best performer in ODI cricket in 10 years. Kohli has been given the award for his performance in ODI cricket from 2011 to 2020. He was also part of Team India, which won the Cricket World Cup in 2011 and the Champions Trophy in 2013. None of the five ODI international tournaments hosted by Kohli and Team India, ICC in the last decade, have been knocked out before the semi-finals.
Sachin Tendulkar, the God of cricket, was declared the best ODI player of the 90s by Wisden cricketers Almanac. Tendulkar had set several records as an opening batsman in this round. In 1998, he scored nine centuries in ODI cricket. This is the best performance ever performed by a batsman in a calendar year.
