Flood threat in northeastern states, Met Office issues orange alert

Guwahati: Flood has created havoc in Bihar and Assam as normal life has been distrubed due to heavy rains. The Met department has predicted that flood like situation may occur in some states of Assam and North East due to heavy rains. At present, there is heavy rain in the North Eastern states.

According to meteorologist RK Janamy, heavy rain is expected in Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, western Uttar Pradesh and eastern Madhya Pradesh for the next two days. The Met department has issued an orange alert for the same. That is, there may be heavy rains at these places. Though the rains in Mumbai will come down from now on, the rain will continue for the time being. In Kerala also, the rain had reduced.

In Bihar, the Met department has predicted a resurgectic rainfall in Kishanganj, Katihar, Shivhar, Madhubani, Supaul, Araria and Purnia. The Met department has issued an alert for heavy rain. In Bihar, the south districts have received good rainfall so far. Gaya, Nawada, Aurangabad have also recorded good rainfall. Meteorological department scientist Anand Shankar has said that good rainfall is likely to occur in the next two days.
