Rain lashes Mumbai, 7 flights cancelled, 8 diverted

Mumbai: Country's economic capital, Mumbai, is once again flooded with water. The heavy rain on Friday evening has once again submerged the streets of Mumbai. After Friday, Saturday is also going to be cloudy in Mumbai. According to the Indian Meteorological Department, heavy rain is expected in many parts of Mumbai on Saturday.

According to the Met department, heavy rain may occur at Mumbai police station and Navi Mumbai area in the next 24 hours. 7 flights from Mumbai have been cancelled due to heavy rain fears, while 8 flights have been diverted. Earlier on Friday, the Mumbai-based Regional Meteorological Centre had issued an orange alert for Thane and Pune. According to the Centre's forecast, there is a potential of heavy rain in Thane and Raigad, including Mayanagari Mumbai.

A red alert has already been issued in Palghar for the 26th and 28th of July. For information, different alerts are issued from red to orange for different monsoon conditions. Orange alert officers are to be prepared to deal with the serious situation.
