Wedding Celebration Turns Tragic as Guest Killed by Stray Bullet

Jaipur: In Dholpur district of Rajasthan, what was supposed to be a joyful wedding celebration turned tragic when some youths fired multiple rounds from illegal weapons while dancing to a DJ. One person was killed due to a bullet injury.

The incident occurred in Ambarpur village of Rajkheda sub-division. Kamal Singh, a 46-year-old resident of Ring village in Agra district, Uttar Pradesh, had come to attend his niece's wedding at the house of his relative, Pappu Prajapati.

During the wedding ceremony, as relatives and villagers were enjoying the festivities, some youths began dancing to the DJ. Among them, Ramveer Singh fired two to three rounds from an illegal 315 bore pistol into the air. Unfortunately, one of the stray bullets hit Kamal Singh, who was sitting on the terrace watching the dance, injuring him on the left side of his waist. Kamal Singh collapsed on the terrace.

Chaos ensued, and the happiness of the wedding turned into mourning. The accused youth fled the scene after the incident. Kamal Singh, injured by the bullet, was being taken for treatment to Shamsabad in Uttar Pradesh by family members. However, the Uttar Pradesh Police intercepted them and sent them back to Rajkheda.

Upon examination, doctors declared Kamal Singh dead. The Rajkheda police took possession of the body and kept it in the government hospital mortuary. The post-mortem was conducted on Saturday, and the body was handed over to the family members.

The police have registered a case under Section 302 and 34 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) against the accused, based on a report filed by Girraj Singh, the elder brother of the deceased Kamal Singh.
