New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday dedicated the new Parliament building to the nation. Earlier, the Shiv Sena (Uddhav faction) in its mouthpiece Saamana attacked the Modi government over the inauguration of the new Parliament building. In Saamana, Shiv Sena (UBT) has once again targeted PM Modi. "The inauguration of the new Parliament building is not in accordance with beliefs and traditions. Such occupation of Parliament is a threat to democracy." What was the need for the new Parliament? The article also calls for a new Parliament unnecessary.
"On one hand, a new Parliament is being constructed, while on the other, there is an atmosphere of fear in both houses of Parliament." Not inviting the President to the inauguration of Parliament is not in accordance with the old tradition and belief. Former Congress president Rahul Gandhi had demanded that the new Parliament be inaugurated by the President. Later, this demand was accepted by other opposition parties and started attacking the Modi government. Not only this, 20 opposition parties led by the Congress have also boycotted the inauguration ceremony.
"Not inviting the President and opposition leaders to the inauguration of the new Parliament means everything is 'I' i.e. Modi. It shows arrogance. "Rahul Gandhi says Parliament is not built by bricks of arrogance but by constitutional values. Not inviting the President to its inauguration is an affront to the highest constitutional post." The decision on the need for a new Parliament building was taken during the Congress regime. No one is opposing the Central Vista either. The only point is that not inviting the President to the inauguration of Parliament is a violation of constitutional convention.
However, if you look at saamana's article, you will find that contradictory things have been written in it. Earlier, Sanjay Raut writes, "What was the need for this Parliament House? It is unnecessary. Then praising Rahul Gandhi, he writes that the decision on the need for a new Parliament building was taken in the Congress government itself". Not only this, it was also written in the Saamana that opposition leaders were not called and only 'I' i.e. Modi did everything. So Sanjay Raut may have forgotten that 20 opposition parties, including the Congress, have boycotted the event after receiving the invitation, while 25 parties, including the BJP, attended the event.
