Ranchi: An incident is coming to light from Jharkhand's capital Ranchi, where the statue of Hanuman Ji was damaged by breaking the lock of a temple. Rameez Ahmed was caught by CCTV examination. Police are calling him a "mental patient". But the locals are questioning this claim. The case dates back to Tuesday (September 27, 2022) night. The locals were informed the next morning. In view of the anger of the people, the police force has been deployed in the area.

According to media reports, the incident took place in the Hindpiri police station area. When Vicky Vishwakarma reached the Hanuman temple located on the main road here on Wednesday morning for cleaning, the lock of the temple was broken. When he went inside, the nose, forehead and mace of the Hanuman statue installed in the temple were broken. Apart from this, all other items of the temple were safe. The donation box money was also safe. Locals, while discussing with the media, told that even though the criminal is being described as a mental patient by the police, why did he target only the idol except for the money of the silver crown and a donation box?

As soon as the news of this case was received, the local people gathered in the temple. After the protest, the police reached the spot. CCTV footage was examined. Based on this, Rameez Ahmed was arrested. The SHO of Hindpiri has described Rameez Ahmed as a mental patient. In view of the tension, a flag march was also conveyed in the city. The BJP has blamed the state government for the incident. It has also been announced to purify the temple. Locals do not agree with the police's claim that Rameez is a mental patient. Another local claimed that on the night of the demolition of the statue, they were talking about Durga Puja. Due to this, some persons tried to provoke them by raising religious slogans.
