Bollywood film actress Kangana Ranaut's controversial statement on India's "freedom in begging" has been demanded action across the country and a complaint has also been lodged against her at several places. Several leaders of the opposition, as well as the government, have criticized Kangana Ranaut's statement. Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut has now launched strong attacks on Kangana Ranaut and BJP.
In an editorial of Shiv Sena's mouthpiece, Saamna says, 'Kangana Ben Ranaut has exploded a bomb. This shattered the fake nationalism of the BJP. Kangana Ben has announced that India did not get independence in 1947 but got begging. The country got real independence in the year 2014 (that is, on Modi becoming PM). Kangana Ben's statement has evoked strong reactions across the country. No one had ever insulted the revolutionaries of the Hindustani freedom struggle so fiercely.'
Amidst the demand for complaints after Kangana Ranaut's statement, some people protested against her on the streets and also blew effigies. Kangana Ranaut is also being demanded to withdraw Padma Shri. Descendants of freedom fighters in Indore burnt Kangana's effigy on Friday. According to the report received, eyewitnesses said that persons belonging to the 'Freedom Fighter and Successor Joint Organization' blew up an effigy of Ranaut on MG Road in the city. He also raised slogans like "Insult to brave martyrs, will not tolerate Hindustan", "Kangana Ranaut Murdabad" and "Make Kangana Ranaut out of the country".
