'Why this injustice to farmers?' Priyanka lashes out at Yogi govt over sugarcane prices

Lucknow: In Uttar Pradesh, Congress has been constantly targeting the Yogi government over issues related to the general public, including inflation, farmers' issues, sugarcane farmers' loans, and corona management. In the same vein, Congress national general secretary Priyanka Vadra on Thursday once again hit out at the state government over the farmers' issue. She said that the rates of electricity for farmers have increased manifold, diesel rates have gone up more than 100 times, but there has been no increase in sugarcane rates.

Priyanka Vadra has tried to corner the state government over sugarcane rates and farmers' loans. She tweeted, "The BJP government in UP came to power promising to increase the price of sugarcane. The prices of electricity for farmers in the state have increased several times. The price of diesel has gone up more than 100 times. But the price of sugarcane of the farmer has increased by Rs. 0 since 2017. Why this injustice to the farmers? If anyone raises their voice, then the farmers are threatened.''

On the other hand, Congress MLC Deepak Singh said that the government in the state has not done anything in the last four years and congress is fighting for the benefit of the people in the state and will further raise issues related to the people. He said all farmers, including sugarcane, are suffering from debt and the general public is suffering from inflation and covid mismanagement in the state.
