Lucknow: The political board is being laid for the elections to be held on 11 Rajya Sabha seats of Uttar Pradesh. On the basis of the number of MLAs, it is believed that BJP will get 7 seats and Samajwadi Party (SP) will get 3 seats, while there will be a tussle between the two parties for one seat. In view of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, SP President and former CM Akhilesh Yadav can take the step of sending Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) chief Jayant Choudhary to Rajya Sabha from his quota, while making a Muslim candidate for one seat.

Let us inform that Akhilesh-Jayant had contested the 2022 UP assembly elections together. Even though the SP-RLD alliance could not stop the BJP from coming to power, Jayant Chaudhary's 9 MLAs managed to win. Jayant Chaudhary has been out since the 2014 Lok Sabha elections. After eight years, the political equations of Uttar Pradesh have become such, under which there is a possibility of Jayant Chaudhary reaching the Rajya Sabha.

According to the information given by the sources, SP President Akhilesh Yadav is also in the mood to send Jayant Chaudhary to one of the three Rajya Sabha seats of the SP quota, but the problem is with the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. SP intends that if Jayant Choudhary himself decides to go to Rajya Sabha, then he should not contest the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. In such a situation, Jayant Chaudhary will have to take a decision in this direction whether he goes to the Upper House himself or sends his wife.
