Wipro Hydraulics has officially opened its sixth manufacturing plant in Jaipur, Rajasthan, marking a significant expansion for the company. The new facility, built with an investment of approximately Rs.250 crore, was inaugurated by Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, Wipro Enterprises Chairman Azim Premji, and Pratik Kumar, CEO of Wipro Infrastructure Engineering and Managing Director of Wipro Enterprises.

The Jaipur plant is expected to create around 400 jobs and has an initial capacity to produce 1,000 hydraulic cylinders per day. According to Pratik Kumar, the facility is designed to scale up production if demand increases. This new plant joins Wipro's existing facilities in Chennai, Hindupur, and Bengaluru, and will serve both domestic and international markets.

The facility is dedicated to manufacturing hydraulic cylinders and components, an area of focus for Wipro Infrastructure Engineering. Kumar highlighted the plant's emphasis on quality, productivity, and cost efficiency, noting that all machinery is sourced from India and all processes—assembly, manufacturing, testing, and packaging—are handled in-house.

With a workforce of 166 staff members, the Jaipur plant began operations in May 2024. Kumar expressed confidence in Wipro Hydraulics' position in the global market, citing recent acquisitions of Mailhot, JARP, and Columbus as strategic moves to enhance their market presence.

Wipro Hydraulics specializes in custom hydraulic cylinders for various industries, including construction, material handling, forestry, agriculture, mining, and truck tipping. The company supplies OEMs such as JCB, Tata Hitachi, Mahindra & Mahindra, Hyundai, Volvo, and Epiroc.

Sitaram Ganeshan, President of Wipro Hydraulics, indicated a positive outlook for the construction equipment sector, projecting that by 2030, India will become the second-largest construction equipment manufacturing industry. With the addition of the Jaipur facility, Wipro Hydraulics now operates 16 facilities globally, including in India, Europe, the USA, and Brazil.
