LUCKNOW: Yogi Adityanath, the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, has instructed the go-ahead for the inclusion of vocational education in the curriculum.

He has suggested for the inclusion of trades associated with One District One Product (ODOP), the government of Yogi's main programme, at all levels of schooling. The chief minister stressed that having a trained workforce is both a benefit and a must for long-term economic growth, agovernment spokesman. said. "Trades should be narrowed down by schools based on regional needs. The service, manufacturing, and agricultural sectors should be prioritised "During a NEP review meeting, he added. 

This will do two things. The state will first have a qualified resource. Second, the indigenous products covered by ODOP will benefit greatly from improved quality and innovation to encourage young people to pursue the profession. Students will also receive training to prepare them for the workforce as part of a cooperative endeavour between the secondary education department and the Skill Development Mission Program. Every working day during school hours, free certification classes would be offered.

The chief minister added that the NEP has brought about a revolution in the education sector by reorienting it from certificate- and degree-based education to learning- and skill-based education. In-depth efforts will be undertaken to overcome skill gaps through vocational education at the secondary school level.

The government is concentrating on giving young people entrepreneurial and marketable skills so that they can adapt to a changing world and actively participate in making improvements. Along with schools, industrial training institutes (ITIs) will also roll out courses in accordance with the ODOP's specifications.

The youth will receive training in this way based on the local manufacturing sector. Students will be allowed to launch their own businesses in addition to finding employment through apprenticeships in the same industry.
