Kottayam (Kerala) [India], Nov 25 (NT): Sheffin Jahan, husband of Hadiya on Saturday lodged a complaint with the Kottayam police uttering that  severe attempts are being made to reconvert his wife to Hinduism ahead of her appearance in the top Court on Monday.

Sheffin alleged that his wife was counseled by a spiritual teacher for over three hours on Thursday.

previously on November 23, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) submitted a status report in a sealed cover to the Supreme Court in links with the case.

Hadiya will come out in the Supreme court on Monday.

The 24-year-old Hadiya has been grabbing attention in the headlines after she became a Muslim following her wedding to Shafin Jahan.

at this time, Hadiya is with her parents, who have claimed that her wedding to a Muslim man is a case of 'love jihad'.

The case is under the consideration of the Supreme Court, which had ordered the NIA to investigate it.

On September 16, Jahan lodged a plea in the Supreme Court and requested to call off the NIA investigation, alleging that the inquiry agency "is not being fair".
