1- India's chief freedom fighter Rajrishi Purushottam Das Tandon was born on August 1, 1882 in Allahabad.
2- Along with the prominent leader of the Indian Freedom Movement, he was a social reformer, a hardworking journalist, an exclusive servant of Hindi and an eminent speaker.
3- His early education took place at the City Anglo Vernaculer School. He then graduated from law and started working in the Allahabad High Court in 1906.
4- From his student days in 1899, he became a member of the Congress Party. In 1906, he was elected representative of the Indian National Congress from Allahabad.
5- In 1920, on the call of the Non-Cooperation Movement, 1921 for social work and Mahatma Gandhi, he left the High Court and jumped into the freedom struggle.
6- In 1930, in connection with the civil disobedience movement, he was arrested from the township and imprisoned.
7- Pandit Nehru was also arrested at the Golmes Conference held in London in 1931.
8- After India's independence, he served for 13 years as the spokesperson of the UP Legislative Assembly. During his long tenure from 1937 to 1950, he addressed the Assembly several times.
9- The national language of India is considered to be a major contribution to the distinguished Hindi and was also awarded the highest civilian award in the country.
10- The title of Bharat Ratna was awarded by the Government of India in 1961. Such a great karma yogi, known as 'Rajrishi', was born on 1st July 1962 by freedom fighter Purushottam Das Tandon.
