- The first private civil engineering college, Norwich University, Vermont, was established in the year 1835.

- In the year 1905, a woman got the first civil engineering degree. This woman's name was Nora Stanton Blech.

- America's oldest engineering society is named the American Society of Civil Engineers. It was established in 1852.

- London Eye Europe is the largest ferris wheel on the continent, located in England. Talking about its height, its height is 135 meters i.e. 442 feet.
