Thane: A very strange incident was witnessed in Thane, Maharashtra. Here the police have registered a case against a fake doctor who used to treat persons using the degree of the deceased doctor. On Sunday, senior inspector Madhukar Kad of Ulhasnagar police station himself reported this.

He said that the criminal Vinod Rai had studied only till class 10 and had been treating patients at a hospital in Ulhasnagar city for the last two years. For this, he was using the degree of the doctor who died in 2019. Madhukar Kad said that a medical officer of the Ulhasnagar municipal body came to know about the fraud due to an inspection. After which he filed a case with the police. The police on Friday registered a case against the offender under sections 419 (cheating by impersonation) and 420 (cheating) of the Indian Penal Code and issued a notice to him. 

The police officer said no arrests have been made in the incident so far. Earlier, the police from the Alwar district of Rajasthan had busted a gang of fake degrees. In this case, the police arrested 3 criminals. All three criminals are from Bihar. From their possession, the police seized fake mark sheets, fake TCs, migrations, provisional, blank and filled copies of the examination and other documents. After rigorous interrogation, the criminals confessed to their crimes.
