Raigad Accident: So far bodies of 15 people recovered from wreckage

Raigad: A five-storey building collapsed late Monday evening in Mahad town of Raigad district, 170 km from Mumbai. So far 15 people have lost their lives in the accident. Relief and rescue work has been going on for the past 36 hours. The possibility of a person being trapped in the debris is being expressed. Two people have been rescued alive during the rescue work on Tuesday. It had a 4-year-old child and a 64-year-old woman.

The joy of finding the child alive could not last long and in less than half an hour the body of his 30-year-old mother Nausheen Nadeem Bangi was recovered from the debris. An officer has told that the bodies of two of the child's sisters Ayesha (seven) and Rukaiya (two) were also recovered after some time. According to officials, Mohammad Nadeem was escorted by NDRF personnel after being trapped inside the wreckage for 19 hours.

Police said the boy's father Nadeem Bangi works in Dubai and reached Mahad on Tuesday afternoon. NDRF shared a video about this. In this, the child can be seen rescued from the debris. Police on Tuesday registered a case against five people, including the builder and architect of Tariq Garden. A case has been registered against the builder Farooq Qazi, consultant Bahubali Dhamne and architect Gaurav Shah under different sections of the Indian Penal Code.
