Korba: Two men entered the house late on Friday night, just 45 minutes before the start of the New Year in Korba, Chhattisgarh, and shot a woman in the face and seriously injured her. The two criminals then fled on a motorcycle. The woman has been referred to korba hospital in a critical condition. Following the information, the police also resorted to blockade in the district but the culprits riding bikes could not be traced. The incident took place in Deepika police station area.
According to reports, the 25-year-old woman from Zabar was sleeping at home on Friday night. While her husband had gone out. Due to this, two criminals entered his house around 11.15 pm and fired at Sarojini. The bullet hit Sarojini in the face and she fell to the ground with serious injuries. Then, the criminals got on the car and fled. Neighbours rushed to the spot after hearing the gunshot and reported to 102.
On the other hand, Korba District Collector Ranu Sahu has banned public New Year celebrations in the district. A prohibitory order has also been issued from the collectorate in this regard. The order has been issued as a precautionary note in the district in view of the increasing cases of corona's omicron virus in other cities of the country. As per the order issued, celebrations or parties will be banned in hotels and public places on New Year's Eve.
