2018 Primetime Emmy Awards: 'Game of Thrones' Wins Best Drama Series

Game of Thrones now has bagged three Emmy wins for best drama series. HBO's super hit show following two consecutive wins in 2015 and 2016, this year also broke all the records with another triumph during Monday night's awards show.

Producer D.B. Weiss took to the stage accepting the award on behalf of the series. He thanked author George R. R. Martin. He also extended his gratitude to HBO as saying that there's no better place to work.

Game of Thrones thrashed hard-hitting competition, including The Americans, The Crown, Stranger Things, This Is Us, Westworld and The Handmaid's Tale — the Elizabeth Moss-starring series that won the same trophy last year.

Game of Thrones was nominated for 22 Emmys this year.  This was most for any single show at this year's award ceremony. Their win in the drama series category comes weeks after HBO shared a first look at the drama's upcoming seventh and final season.

Michael Che and Colin Jost being host graced the 2018 Primetime Emmy Awards. The whole show was aired live on NBC from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.

In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, directors Alan Taylor and Jeremy Podeswa talked about season six. The told that how it will impact on the future of Westeros.  They added that the Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen are expected related in spite of being intimate with one another.
