New Delhi: With a lot of hopes and dreams, people leave their home and home and go abroad in connection with job, business or work and many of them make their place there. A large number of people from India live in various foreign countries. However, there are many thugs who trap people by showing big dreams, charging them a hefty amount. After this, once people reach abroad and get caught in problems there, the agents turn away. 38 women from Punjab were caught in various types of problems in Oman, out of which 24 have been brought back home with great difficulty. The stories narrated by these women are unbearable.

According to the report, 24 out of 38 women from Punjab have been brought back from gulf countries. These Sikh women are residents of Moga, Ferozepur and Hoshiarpur districts. A 41-year-old woman from Moga district has been rescued from Oman. She returned to her family on May 17. When she reached home, her happiness knew no bounds. She was crying and smiling. On December 2021, a female travel agent cheated on her. The woman's deal was struck with an Omani national for Rs 3 lakh. Simply put, the woman was trafficked. The woman also has a nine-year-old son. She agreed to go to Oman to help her family financially. 

In fact, her husband used to drive a taxi and the cab stopped running during the lockdown during the Corona epidemic. This made it very difficult to survive the house. For this reason, the woman decided to go to Oman and earn money. The woman said that she wanted to go to Singapore. However, the travel agent said that there is no job there. Singapore's situation is not right after Corona. Do this so that you go to Oman. There you will find work comfortably. We will get your job done. After this, the agent sent the woman to work at an Indian's house in Oman. He promised to give the woman Rs 24,000 per month. The woman said that at first I hesitated, but then I gave up in front of the family situation.

The Punjabi woman had studied only up to class 5. The woman's husband somehow managed to extort Rs 70,000. The woman arrived in Oman on December 13, 2021, on a tourist visa. As soon as she reached Muscat, the woman was taken to an office. Where she found an Indian man named Deep. There were 7 other women.    A few days later, Omani people came to that office. He came to meet all the women. The woman was granted a work visa for two years with effect from January 16, 2022. The woman did not know anything about the terms and conditions. In Oman, she was sent to a large house and told to work there from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. Here the woman was made to work throughout the day, due to which a few days later the condition of the woman had become miserable and she refused to work. 

She was then brought to the travel agent's office and imprisoned there. The woman came to know that Deep had sold her for Rs 3 lakh. The agent's men imprisoned the woman and beat her up. He was repeatedly asking her to do it. But, she wanted to return to her country. The travel agent asked him to pay Rs 3 lakh. For this, the woman was allowed to talk on the phone. The woman's passport was taken away from her only after she reached Muscat. All the calls on her phone were recorded. The woman said she had heard about a gurdwara in the city. The woman said that she is ready to work. After this, she was released. The woman ran away and reached the gurudwara.

After this, the woman came in contact with some good people who helped her. Sahni, who heads the World Punjabi Organisation (WPO), helped her in the same way so far rescued 24 Punjabi women from Oman in a fortnight. After a long process, we reached out to the Punjab government. The SIT was formed under the leadership of Ferozepur Superintendent of Police Randhir Kumar. Based on the woman's complaints, three agents were arrested. The main henchmen of these agents trap similarly poor women in Delhi, Telangana and Punjab and then sell them to Gulf countries. With the efforts of Rajya Sabha MP Vikram Sahni in coordination with the Indian Embassy and the Oman government, 15 of the 34 women identified have been reunited with their families.
