Mumbai: The process of forming a new government has started in Maharashtra. Uddhav Thackeray, who became CM on behalf of Maha Vikas Aghadi, reached Raj Bhavan with his wife on Wednesday morning and met Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari. Uddhav Thackeray will have to prove his majority in the House by 3 December. Uddhav Thackeray is the first CM of the state, who has won this prestigious post without contesting elections.

Protem Speaker Kalidas Columbkar has administered an oath to 288 newly-elected MLAs. Former Maharashtra CM and senior Congress leader Ashok Chavan said that this government will run for five years, it is an auto-tempo government, but it will complete its term. Balasaheb Thorat said that Uddhav Thackeray is CM. I do not know whether I will be the deputy CM or not, but I know that the Congress will get ministries.

Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray has been made the leader of the Legislative Party by the Maha Vikas Aghadi Alliance formed by joining Shiv Sena, Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) and Congress. After being elected the leader of the Maha Vikas Aghadi coalition at Trident Hotel in Mumbai, Uddhav touched Sharad Pawar's feet present there and took his blessings. Along with this, he also said that he will go to Delhi to meet his elder brother (PM Narendra Modi).
