Jaipur: The havoc of Lumpy Skin Disease in cattle is continuously increasing in Rajasthan. The disease has spread to a total of 11 districts of western Rajasthan including Jaisalmer, Jalore, Barmer, Sirohi, Jodhpur, and Nagaur. According to media reports, more than 50,000 animals have succumbed to the infection so far. 3,000 animals have lost their lives. Meanwhile, Animal Husbandry Minister Lal Chand Kataria has held a district-level meeting.

According to media reports, the disease has spread to 11 districts of the state. More than 50,000 animals have been infected. More than 3,000 cows have lost their lives due to this disease. However, these figures are not considered to be completely correct. At the same time, a spokesman of the government has informed that in view of the increasing outbreak of the disease in animals, Kataria has held an online meeting with all the district level officials on August 3, in which the prevention of the disease has been brainstormed.

According to the spokesman, the state government is on alert about the spread of the disease in the bovine animals in Jaisalmer, Jalore, Barmer, Sirohi, Jodhpur, and Nagaur and Bikaner districts of western Rajasthan. Earlier on Monday, state Animal Husbandry Minister Kataria visited Phalodi and adjoining areas in the Jodhpur district to take stock of the situation. Kataria had said that Rs 1 lakh each has already been released to each of the affected districts to purchase essential medicines and Rs 50,000 each to polyclinics. Apart from this, some additional amounts will be given to the districts. It is being told that this disease has reached India from Pakistan across the border. Every year, a group of locusts used to come to India from Pakistan, but this year the virus has come.
