58-year-old driver killed for robbing rickshaw in Delhi

New Delhi: A middle-aged body was recovered on January 15 in the new Ashok Nagar police station area of the country's capital, Delhi. The body found in the ground near a school was identified as 58-year-old Jiban Majumdar. The police now have revealed the Majumdar massacre. According to police, Jiban was murdered with the intention of robbing his rickshaw.

Police in new Ashok Nagar police station has arrested two accused in the case. The names of the arrested accused are Dilip and Chhota Singh. Police have recovered rickshaws, purses and weapons used in the crime from the accused. Police are questioning the accused. In this regard, East Delhi Deputy Commissioner of Police Deepak Yadav said that the accused were arrested on the basis of secret information.

DCP Deepak Yadav said that the body of a bloodstained man was reported to have been lying in an empty field near a school on January 15. The man was strangled with a sharp weapon. He said that the police had not found anything from the spot to identify the deceased. The deceased was later identified as Jiban Majumdar. He said the police were searching for the accused by registering a murder case. Meanwhile, on the basis of secret information, the police arrested Dilip and Chhota Singh.
