Ahmedbad: Gujarat ATS and Coast Guard have arrested 6 Pakistani nationals with drugs worth Rs 400 crore. Gujarat ATS and Coast Guard had been conducting search operations for the past few months over reports of drug trafficking under the guise of local fishermen in Saurashtra and Kutch. In fact, ATS had received inputs that the drug mafia wanted to transport a consignment of drugs to India via Gujarat.

A joint team of ATS and Coast Guard then launched a sea operation and arrested six Pakistanis with a boat named Al Hussein with 77 kg of drugs. Gujarat ATS and coast guard have seized 8 drug consignments in the last one and a half years. The drugs seized so far are worth more than Rs 2,000 crore. According to the Gujarat ATS, Pakistan used to reach India by road in Kashmir and Punjab, but after some time of tightening in Kashmir and Punjab, Pakistan is now trying to send drugs to India by sea.

According to gujarat ATS, most of the drugs are being tried to be sent from Afghanistan to India via Pakistan. Drugs are transferred from the International Border at sea to local fishermen, lured by money, which, after being brought to Gujarat, is sent to big cities like Delhi-Mumbai through different consignments in the country.
