Azamgarh: CM Yogi Adityanath has lashed out at the Superintendent of Police for taking a tough stand in connection with the attack on a Dalit colony in Sikanderpur Aima village under the Maharajganj Kotwali area of Azamgarh district of Uttar Pradesh. After which the Superintendent of Police suspended Maharajganj Kotwal, the same police has arrested a dozen accused involved in the incident.

At the same time, a reward of 25-25 thousand rupees has been declared against seven absconding accused. Four police teams are also conducting raids on possible recoveries of absconding accused. Maharajganj used to sit at a tubewell in Sikanderpur Aima village in Kotwali area, a young man from a village community. Late Wednesday evening, the girls of Dalit Basti were molested by the youths. After this, when the people of the Dalit colony opposed it, the people of the particular community gathered and attacked with sticks and sharp weapons.

In this case, a dozen people of the Dalit colony were injured. In this incident, people of Dalit colony had registered a case against nine nominated and ten unknown on Thursday. But the local police station was negligent in nabbing the accused in the case. Coming to the notice of the incident, CM Yogi reprimanded the Superintendent of Police and arrested the accused and directed them to take strict action against them.
