The Police has arrested a  79-year-old man yesterday in Pune for sexually assaulting his own 14-year-old granddaughter.

The victim told about her assault to her teacher who then contacted child helpline. After which the police arrested the accused. The girl was living with her maternal aunt and uncle after she lost her parents and she mentioned that whenever her grandfather come to Pune, he used to sexually assault her.

The police have arrested a man under a section of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) while her maternal uncle and aunt has been booked under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
