Job Scam: Man Cheats Father of Rs 6 Lakh in Thane, Maharashtra

Mumbai: A man in Thane, Maharashtra, cheated his father of Rs 6 lakh under the guise of securing a job for his son. Following a complaint, the police have registered a case against four accused individuals. The victim's son did not get the promised job, prompting the victim to request the return of the money. However, when he received a cheque, it bounced. The police have initiated an investigation into the matter.

The incident took place at Kalwa police station in Thane district, Maharashtra. The victim was deceived by four individuals who promised to secure a job for his son in a shipping company. Believing them, the victim handed over Rs 6 lakh to the fraudsters. However, when his son failed to get the promised job, the victim contacted the accused, but received no response. When he demanded the return of his money, he was given a cheque for Rs 5 lakh, which bounced. Realizing he had been cheated, the victim filed a complaint against the four accused.

An official from Kalwa police station stated that a case was registered on Friday under sections 420 (cheating) and 406 (criminal breach of trust). The accused have been identified as Chandrashekhar Chorge, Shambhu Prasad Sharma, Ganesh Ravan Kadam, and Nasir Hussain Ali Hussain. Chorge had approached the victim, offering to secure a job for his son in a shipping company, and demanded Rs 6 lakh for the same.
