Hyderabad: In a strange case reported, a 20-year-old man was attacked with chilli powder and acid by his ex-landlord in Santoshnagar. The victim was identified as Md Abdul Farooq and has sustained several injuries. According to a Source report in the Deccan Chronicle (DC), the victim used to stay at the accused house as a tenant. And the landlord's son Tayyab Afzal allegedly posted objectionable pictures of Farooq's mother with derogatory remarks on social media after which the duo landed in a quarrel.

It is to be noted that the Santoshnagar police told DC that Farooq went to Afzal's house to confront about the objectionable picture which Afzal had uploaded online. But, the landlord and his son attacked Farooq with red chilli and acid. They then began beating him mercilessly with iron rods. Reportedly, the victim then lodged an official complaint in Santoshnagar police station on Thursday.

 However, the DC report further mentioned that the victim's mother Kausar Begum said that her son insisted on taking back the case and vacating the house. She further alleged they gave Rs 20,000 as an advance but when they asked for it, the landlord gave them Rs 15,000. While she was counting the money, Afzal clicked her picture and posted on a social media platform with derogatory comments.

Meanwhile, the inspector K. Ravi told DC that they booked a case against the accused of attempt to murder based on the complaint from the victim. However, further investigation in the case is underway.
