A new revelation has come to light in the case of murder of a Dalit elder in Gonda, the investigation of which was changed 14 times. BJP MP from Kaiserganj Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh has written a letter to the Principal Secretary Home informing that his fake letter pad was used to get the investigation changed.
The BJP MP has written in a letter to the Principal Secretary that a fake letter of mine has been sent to you in the year 2017 regarding transferring the investigation of this case. My signature on this letter is completely fake. My signature has also been misused by someone by getting it photostatted. This letter has been forged by copy-pasting. He claimed that he has not sent any letter to the Principal Secretary to transfer the investigation. He has also requested to take further action in this matter.
Role of politicians also came to light: The role of some other politicians of Gonda has also started coming to light in this case. Sources say that many local leaders, advocating for the accused, had written a letter to transfer the investigation. Umesh Singh, who was the SP of Gonda in the year 2017, has said that he had started opposing the repeated transfer of investigation on the request of the accused along with the recommendations of politicians. As per the rules, the investigation can be transferred only on the request of the plaintiff party, about which he had also informed the higher officials.
Land worth crores became the root of controversy: It has also come to light that the reason for the murder of Dalit elder Ramai was a land worth crores of rupees situated on Gonda Bahraich Highway, which the accused are trying to get in their name. When Ramai refused to sell the land even after several attempts and pressure, a plan was made to dispose of it. This was also confirmed in the earlier investigation conducted by 13 officers. The victim's family alleges that the current investigator Prayagraj Sector SP Sameer Saurabh, while giving a clean chit to the accused, made their helpers the accused.
