Srinagar: Amarnath Yatra was temporarily suspended on Tuesday after a suspicious object was spotted on Jammu-Srinagar highway in Kulgam district of Jammu and Kashmir. Police sources said, the suspicious object was spotted in Marpora.

According to the source,"The teams of state police, army and central reserve police force were immediately dispatched to investigate the object. Traffic on the highway has been restored after some suspects were found."

It is worth mentioning here that the annual Hindu pilgrimage to the cave temple in Kashmir has been going on peacefully since July 1. Officials said that more than the number of devotees who visited the holy cave during the 60 days of the Yatra last year, many more than the pilgrims have completed the Amarnath Yatra in the last 22 days.

On the 22nd day of the Amarnath Yatra, 13,377 devotees visited Baba Bhandari and in 22 days since the Amarnath Yatra began this year, the number of pilgrims visiting Baba Bhandari demolished the total 60-day travel period record last year. is delivered. Officials here said, "On the 22nd day of the Amarnath Yatra, 13,377 Yatris visited Baba Amarnath yesterday and have taken advantage of 2,85,381 Shraddhalu Darshan since the Yatra began on 1st July this year."
