Hamirpur: Union Minister and BJP candidate Anurag Thakur has criticized Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal for seeking an extension of his interim bail on health grounds. Thakur pointed out that Kejriwal, despite claiming ill health, could still participate in a roadshow in Delhi's intense 47-degree heat.

"He is exposed once again. It is clear to everyone that he can attend a roadshow in extreme heat but seeks bail citing health issues," Thakur remarked.

The Supreme Court's Registry recently declined an urgent hearing for Kejriwal's request to extend his interim bail. The Registry noted that the Supreme Court's earlier order allowed Kejriwal to apply for regular bail in the trial court.

Previously, on May 10, the Supreme Court had granted Kejriwal interim bail until June 1 to campaign for the Lok Sabha elections, with instructions to surrender on June 2.

In his application for a one-time bail extension, Kejriwal mentioned the need for medical diagnostic tests, including a PET-CT Scan. The application highlighted recent tests indicating high blood glucose and ketone levels, which might suggest potential kidney issues.

Additionally, Thakur criticized the Congress party, accusing them of deceiving people for seven years with promises of poverty eradication that never materialized. He praised Prime Minister Modi for initiatives benefiting the poor, including providing housing, electricity, LPG cylinders, free food grains, and medical treatment.

"Congress insulted Himachal by calling me 'Himachal ka chokra.' Today, this same 'chokra' works for the people and silences the Congress," Thakur added.
