New Delhi: There is an elderly woman from UP who is popularly known as shooter dadi or revolver dadi. The real name of this woman is Chandro Tomar. Chandro Tomar was born on January 1, 1932, in the Shamli district. Chandro Tomar's husband's name was Bhor Singh Tomar. Chandro settled in Baghpat after marriage, where Prakashi Tomar was married to her brother-in-law and both Devrani-Jethani had a loving relationship.
Both Chandro Tomar and Prakashi Tomar passed half their lives as housewives. Their whole life was taking care of the family, raising children, and cooking food. However, time changed, and both became famous all over the world as shooter dadi. Actually, Prakashi Tomar's daughter wanted to learn shooting. Prakashi also took the two grandmothers to the Rosary Rifle Club and opened fire with a pistol to boost the morale of the daughter. Luck or the desire to hit the target, the target got hit accurately, after which the coach of Rosary Club asked Prakashi to join the club.
When she started shooting, Prakashi was 65 years old. The family was not in favor of this, so she used to secretly go for shooting training. In this work, he was supported by Prakashi's sister-in-law Chandro. When both of them started shooting training, people started making fun of them in a different way. But all of them stopped talking when shooter Dadi won the gold medal by defeating DIG of Delhi in a shooting match in Delhi. After this, she started participating in the competition and became famous. In the senior citizen category, the pair has been awarded many awards. She has been honored with the Stree Shakti Samman by the President also.
Chandro Tomar also won many medals. The 2019 film is based on the lives of Chandro Tomar and Prakashi Tomar. In this movie, Taapsee Pannu and Bhumi Pednekar played the role of Devrani and Jethani. But on this day last year, Chandro Tomar said goodbye to the world during the Corona epidemic.
