The Special Envoy of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), Cambodian Foreign Minister Prak Sokhonn, finished his three-day visit to Myanmar with positive results, according to a statement from the Foreign Ministry.

Sokhonn's three-day tour to Myanmar came to an end on Wednesday. "The visit was conducted amicably and productively with meaningful outcomes, reflecting Myanmar's support for Cambodia's efforts to advance the implementation of the Five-Point Consensus (5PC), and serves to strengthen regional stability as well as the credibility, unity, and centrality of ASEAN and its community-building process," according to the statement.

The Cambodian Foreign Minister thanked Myanmar for its support for the special envoy's missions, including this and subsequent visits, according to the statement. "All parties involved hoped for favourable developments in attempts to address Myanmar's current issue, particularly the implementation of the 5PC," the statement continued.

Sokhonn paid a courtesy call on Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, Chairman of Myanmar's State Administration Council, during his visit, according to the statement, and the two discussed the current situation in Myanmar as well as the importance of implementing the 5PC, which includes trust and confidence building, inclusive dialogue, and humanitarian assistance to Myanmar.
