Lucknow: Ashraf Ali, accused of threatening SDM Divyanshu Patel after the demolition of a 100-year-old mosque at Dariabad in Barabanki district of Uttar Pradesh, was arrested by the police on Saturday (May 22, 2021). According to reports, the accused had warned the SDM of being biased and warned them of consequences, citing the demolition of the mosque.

The illegal construction was demolished on 17th May, 2021 on the direction of SDM. According to officials, an illegal residential structure located within the 'Tehsil' complex in Ram Sanehi Ghat area of Barabanki has been demolished. In fact, the Muslim community claims to be a mosque. The opposition is also accompanying him in tune and calling him a mosque. According to SDM Court Ram Sanehi Ghat, the people living there were asked to submit documents to prove their claim, but they fled after the notice.

According to officials, the Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High Court had on April 2 disposed of a petition filed in this regard, proving that there was illegal construction. The officials further said that a case was registered in the court of SDM ram sanehi ghat in which the orders of the SDM were followed on May 17, 2021. Joint magistrate Divyanshu Patel had also termed the construction as illegal and the building was demolished on a court order.
