Assam: Murmu takes sortie in Sukhoi 30 MKI fighter aircraft

Droupadi Murmu, the president of India, put on the uniform of the Indian Air Force on Saturday as she got ready to fly a sortie aboard a Sukhoi 30 MKI Fighter at Tezpur Air Force Station in Assam. The Indian President made a victory gesture in front of the cameras in a video taken just before she was going to start her sortie.

On April 6 to April 8, President Murmu visited Assam for two days. She has been invited to open the Gaj Utsav-2023 at Kaziranga National Park during her stay. She then flagged the Mount Kanchenjunga Expedition-2023 in Guwahati, which was followed by a celebration of the Gauhati High Court in Guwahati's 75th anniversary. President Murmu flew in a Sukhoi 30 MK1 fighter jet from Tezpur Air Force Station on the final day of her visit.

Notably, this was President Murmu's second state visit after assuming the top constitutional office in the nation in July 2022. Himanta Biswa Sarma, the chief minister of Assam, also welcomed her on his official Twitter account. Assam is excited to welcome Adarniya Rashtrapati Smt. Draupadi Murmu Ji, who will be in town for two days starting on April 6, according to the state's chief minister.

The state CM went over the preparations undertaken for the president's visit. The President attended various formal events in addition to Gaj Utsav. Every year, a national festival called the Gaj Utsav is held in support of Asian elephant preservation and conservation.
