Guwahati: In two separate operations on Friday night, police seized 1.2 kg of heroin worth Rs 7 crore in Assam's Cachar district. Three individuals were apprehended in connection with the seizures. Superintendent of Police Numal Mahatta of Cachar district informed the media that the narcotics were confiscated in operations conducted in Dholai and Silchar. Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma commended the Assam police for the success of the operations.

Taking to 'X', Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma wrote, "In a significant boost to Assam's mission of a drug-free society, @cacharpolice seized over 1.2 kg of heroin worth approximately Rs 7 crore in two separate operations. In both instances, the substances were being transported from a neighboring state. Three individuals have been apprehended in this connection. Well done @assampolice." Earlier on May 9, acting on credible intelligence, Cachar Police conducted an operation at ISBT Silchar and seized 572 grams of heroin valued at approximately Rs 3 crore. The narcotics were being transported from a neighboring state, and three individuals were apprehended.

On May 5, Cachar Police carried out two separate operations and seized 1.8 kg of heroin valued at Rs 9.5 crore in Dholai and Lakhipur. The narcotics were being transported from neighboring states, and two individuals were apprehended in connection with the case.
