Lucknow: A SHO has been suspended in connection with the case of obscene videos going viral on social media in Uttar Pradesh's Badaun district. After the obscene video surfaced, the in-charge of Ughaiti police station of Badaun was suspended by the senior superintendent of police on Sunday. SSP Dr OP Singh has informed that a video calling clip of SHO Virendra Singh Rana of Ughati police station had gone viral on social media. Taking cognizance of this, CO Bilsi was asked to investigate the matter. The police official said that action has been taken against SHO Ughaiti Rana today after the authenticity of the video was proved.

The police official said that the investigation into the matter has been given to the Superintendent of Police (City). After the matter came up for discussion, the SSP got the entire case investigated by CO Bilsi. CO Bilsi recorded Rana's statement at night and reached the police station and asked him for information about the entire situation. He remained silent on the matter, he did not say anything in his explanation. Following the CO's report, the SSP took action against the SHO on Sunday and suspended him.
