Ban on religious-social events till 30 September in UP, orders CM Yogi

Lucknow: The Yogi Adityanath government of UP has banned the organization of all types of social and religious ceremonies till September 30 in view of the Corona infection. Additional Chief Secretary (Home) of the state, Avneesh Awasthi said that CM Yogi, after holding a virtual meeting with all the district magistrates of the state, gave a clear direction that no public or religious program should be sanctioned till September 30.

CM Yogi directed the officers to strictly enforce the government's other restrictions including complete lockdown in the state on Saturday-Sunday. UP CM Yogi Adityanath inaugurated the 400 bedded COVID Hospital in Noida. CM Yogi said that all administrative officers should pay special attention to cleaning, sanitization and fogging in their districts when the market is closed. Doing so will go a long way in breaking the coronavirus chain in the state.

Officers attending the meeting informed CM Yogi that a fine of Rs 70 crore has been recovered from the people for violating the lockdown rules. With this, a case has been registered against about two and a half lakh people by sealing 69765 vehicles. Officials said that the number of containment zones in the state has been increased to 15471. While the Health Department teams have done medical checkups of 14.35 homes and 82.35 lakh people so far.
