Lucknow: The Bareilly Special Task Force (STF) busted an arms factory by conducting a raid in kotwali police station area of the city late on Thursday night. Here weapons were being made under the guise of a lock factory. Five others, including the factory owner, were arrested from the spot. A revolver, 19 guns, a dozen semi-fabricated pistols and equipment to make them were recovered from them. The factory was supplying weapons to several districts of UP.
The factory was operating at Makdoom Nagar locality in the Bhujpura area of Kotwali area. It was being run by Anjum Hussain, a resident of Bhujpura. STF Bareilly had inputs regarding this for the past several days. The input was received when arms were supplied to several gangs. Based on this, the Bareilly STF team led by in-charge Ajay Pal Singh reached Aligarh. Here, the police of Kotwali police station raided the arms factory.
Anjum Hussain and his accomplice Sarfaroz were arrested along with four others from the spot. During interrogation, it was revealed that he was running the factory in connivance with a gang from Kayamganj in Farrukhabad. Till late in the night, the Kotwali police were engaged in the process of registering a case on the basis of the STF's complaint. All of them will be produced in court on Friday and sent to jail.
