Mumbai: The lawyer of social activist Sudha Bhardwaj in Koregaon violence case, made serious allegations against the police during a hearing in the Bombay High Court on Friday. Bhardwaj's lawyer said that the police Sudha implicated him despite no concrete evidence.

The lawyer said that the Pune police resorted to a "national security mantra" as they did not have any real case against their family over Maoist links. Social activist Sudha Bhardwaj is a resident of Faridabad. On Friday, his bail plea was being heard before a bench of Justice Sarang Kotwali.

Sudha's lawyer Yuga Chaudhary said, the entire case against his lawyer is based on some fixed documents which were allegedly seized by the police from the computers and laptops of some co-accused. The documents have failed to prove Bhardwaj's links with the case, the lawyer said. The police are merely working on the conviction that if it chants the national security mantra in a loud voice, the court will lock its law and seal the evidence.

The lawyer also pointed to the police charge sheet. He said, "The charge sheet gives a document stating the minutes of the meeting held in Nagpur on January 2, 2018. According to this, Bhardwaj and co-accused Shoma Sen were part of the meeting of the Maoist cadre, which allegedly discussed bomb-making, etc.
