Big News: All power workers to go on strike from 12 pm today

The employees of the Power Ministry of the division have rallied on the demands. Temporary to permanent personnel have decided to go on strike from Friday night. The employees are protesting against the privatisation of the department. They are protesting against the stabilization of temporary employees and wage anomalies.  Earlier, a team of All India Power Engineers Federation was also met by the Lieutenant Governor but no solution has been found.

The personnel warned that they are not going to repair the faulty power structure since 12 pm on December 17. Other demands of the employees are to be made in the Jammu and Kashmir Grid Company. He is also scheduled to meet the All J &K Power Employees and Engineer Coordination Committee to form a joint company with JKTCA and PGCIL.

Federation spokesperson VK Gupta has written to LG giving his detailed view on various aspects of JVC and its implications. All Jammu and Kashmir Power Employees and Engineers Coordination Committee are strongly opposed to the move and have requested the government to stop the draft and initiate talks. The employees have to say that the Government should stop privatisation. The workers have been working in the department for 20 years, but they are not being made permanent.
