Ranchi: An encounter has taken place between security forces and Naxalites in Latehar, Jharkhand. In this encounter, security forces have killed three militants. The Jaguar team has killed the TAPC sub-zonal commander, area commander and another militant. Security forces have recovered several weapons including an SLR, an INSAS during the search operation.

According to information, on Saturday, the Jharkhand Jaguar team had gone out on a search. During this time, the Naxals saw the security forces and started firing. This was followed by retaliatory firing from the security forces, in which three militants of the Third Conference Presentation Committee (TSPC) were gunned down. The militants killed include a sub-zonal commander of TAPC, an area commander and another militant. 

After the retaliation by the security forces, the other militants fled towards the forest. The security forces then launched a search operation. During the search operation, an SLR, an INSAS and several other weapons were found. A huge quantity of cartridges, including Naxal literature, have also been recovered. After the killing of the militants and the recovery of a large number of cartridges and other weapons, the security forces have cordoned off the entire area from all sides.
