Gaya: Doctors across the country are opposing the NMC (National Medical Commission) bill. Junior doctors from Delhi to various states are strongly opposing the Central government bill. In Bihar also, junior doctors are on strike in all the major hospitals to protest against the bill. This is worsening the condition of patients in the state. Junior doctors have also called off their strike at Magadh Medical College in Gaya.

In protest against the NMC bill, junior doctors at Magadh Medical College in Gaya district have stopped OPD service. This is causing a lot of problems to patients coming here from far flung places for treatment. All are sitting there for treatment, but no work is being done. "All of them have been standing in queues since 7 a.m. at the frontline. But no notice has been given. At least one form should be put in place if the doctor is on strike. The health of children is poor. So what do we do, nothing is understood.'

Matia Devi, a woman from Gaya's dobhi, told the media that "My child is fainting again and again due to fever and we have come here for treatment but body is cutting recipt for treatment. She further said she is not getting what she should do now.
