New Delhi: In the Rajya Sabha of Parliament on Friday, BJP MP Harnath Singh Yadav demanded a strong law to control the situation of population explosion in the country. In the Lok Sabha, Railway Minister Piyush Goyal, while denying the allegations of attempt to privatize Indian Railways, said that the government is taking cooperation from the private sector to expand the railways, increase and strengthen the facilities there.

In the Upper House on Friday, a BJP member raised the demand for stringent legislation to control the situation of population explosion in the country. BJP member Harnath Singh Yadav made this demand before the House in the Rajya Sabha at zero hour. He said that effective legislation should be enacted in this session of Parliament.

Yadav has demanded that people with more than two children should not be given government facilities. He said that ban should also be imposed for contesting separate elections for violating the rule of two children. Yadav said that rapid increase in population puts pressure on the environment as well as natural resources.
