In a shocking incident, an unwell bride who threw up just before her marriage was taken to a hospital to test her virginity and pregnancy by her spouse allegedly without her consent. In an appalling case reported from Bengaluru, a woman took her husband to court alleging that she was made to undergo virginity and pregnancy tests by her spouse after she vomited minutes after tying the knot. She has accused him of suspecting her of infidelity and harassing her.

Sharat (29) and Raksha (26) (names changed) from North Karnataka were MBA graduates and were working for reputed firms. Raksha had lost her mother to cancer 15 days before the wedding. According to reports, minutes after the wedding got over, Raksha started throwing up and this got the groom Sharath, 29, grew so suspicious that he tricked her into taking virginity and pregnancy test. On the wedding day, Raksha vomited due to gastritis and Sharath immediately took her to the hospital, thinking she was going to be treated for the same. It was only after she signed a consent form that she realized a virginity test was being done on her.

According to a source from the counseling office, informed that the two had met on a matrimonial site. After a few days, both decided to marry in November 2018. However, just 15 days before the marriage, the mother of the bride died due to cancer and the bride went into depression. This is when Sharat started thinking that Raksha (name changed) is not happy with her marriage. Instead of consoling her, Sharat misunderstood her. Raksha relied on one of her friends who hailed from her hometown, this further concerned Sharat. The counselors were shocked to know that Raksha was taken for pregnancy and virginity test without her consent. The center called for counseling Sharat under Raksha’s request, but he never showed up. Sharat has opted for divorce.
