Burhanpur: Rain in Madhya Pradesh has brought relief from the scorching heat after a gap of a few days. On Friday, some parts of the state received rain accompanied by strong thunderstorms. In Burhanpur, a tower at the district BSNL office collapsed due to a strong storm, causing damage to a house and shops. Three people were injured in the accident. A child was also among the injured.  

According to the Meteorological Department, the weather will remain bad in the state on Saturday as well. There are chances of rain especially in east Madhya Pradesh. Due to this, a high-speed storm can also run. In Burhanpur, the tower on the roof of the BSNL head office in Shanwara suddenly collapsed due to the storm. Due to the collapse of the tower, there was a lot of damage to Shah and Shah, Badshah Steel and other iron material shops located in Gotia Pir area behind the BSNL office. A house also came under the tower, due to which 3 people living in it were injured. A child was also among the injured. All the injured persons have been referred to the district hospital for treatment.

A shop operator said that his entire warehouse collapsed due to the collapse of the tower. A portion of the tower also fell on a house, in which 3 people were injured. Amar Yadav, deputy leader of opposition in the corporation, said that there is a demand from the administration that proper compensation should be given to the victims. Also, all the towers installed in the city should be investigated so that such an incident does not happen again. CCTV footage of the tower collapse incident has also surfaced, which is becoming increasingly viral on social media.
