New Delhi: The South Delhi Municipal Corporation's action against illegal constructions in the country's capital Delhi has begun. As per the said plan, action is being taken to remove encroachments around MB Road in Tughlakabad today. Along with this, the anti-encroachment drive is also being carried out in the Karni shooting range area of Tughlakabad.

Locals are protesting against this action of the South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SMCD). He said he had been running his shops here for 15 years. Now the municipal corporation is suddenly removing them from the place. Earlier, the South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SMCD) had launched an anti-encroachment drive on April 27. During this time, temporary constructions were demolished in all the four zones. Apart from this, illegal hoardings and vehicles parked on the side of the road were also seized. 

At that time about 5 km of the road was made encroachment-free. The South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SMCD) had launched the campaign following a letter from Delhi BJP unit president Adesh Gupta. In the letter, he had demanded the South and East Municipal Corporations to remove the encroachments on behalf of Rohingyas, Bangladeshis and other anti-social elements.
