Kolkata: A team of CBI officials has reached the residence of veteran BJP leader Mukul Roy in South Kolkata in connection with the famous Narada scam in West Bengal. Along with the CBI team, suspended IPS officer SMH Mirza is also there. Sources say that the CBI team can interrogate Roy in relation to the scam. The CBI can also answer questions from both of them by sitting Mirza and Roy face to face. A day earlier, the CBI questioned Roy at the Nizam Palace.

It is noteworthy that the CBI on Thursday (September 26) in the Narada sting footage case, IPS officer S. MH Mirza was taken into custody. This is the first arrest made by the CBI in this amazing sting case. In the Narada news portal clip, IPS officer Mirza was seen allegedly taking a bribe of five lakh rupees. The sting operation tape came to light in 2016. At that time, Mirza was the Superintendent of Police of Burdwan district.

The sting operation was carried out by Narada News editor Matthew Samuel, who appeared as a businessman for it. In this sting, IPS officers, as well as several top TMC leaders, were seen taking cash in exchange for alleged benefits.
