India's 2nd Moon mission 'Chandrayaan 2' to be launched at 2.43 pm today

NEW DELHI: The rehearsal for the launch of ISRO's ambitious mission Chandrayaan-2 has been completed and its countdown began at 6:43 p.m. on Sunday. After the launch was postponed on July 15, ISRO had set a deadline of 2:43 p.m. on July 22. Earlier on 15th, the launch was postponed some time ago due to leakage in the cryogenic engine.

ISRO Chief K. "All preparations for the launch of Chandrayaan-2 have been completed. The technical snagthat has come up in the first attempt has also been rectified. Former ISRO Chief A.S. Kiran Kumar has said that before any such campaign, we conduct tests at various levels. Last time we noticed a flaw and it has been overcome. We are now fully prepared for the launch of Chandrayaan-2.

He said Chandrayaan-2 will be launched on July 22 and from August 14 we will start the journey to the moon. It will then land on the moon by September 6. All the processes are going on well. Earlier on Saturday afternoon, ISRO said that the rehearsal of the launch of the GSLV Mark III-M1 carrying Chandrayaan-2 has been completed and has been successful.
