Sometimes we really miss our old days when we used to play in open ground despite on computer or laptops, meeting our friends in real rather than in facebook, all the time without this modern technologies which really gives us pleasure of the real happiness. As for most of us born in the '70s and '80s, the summer brings with it a cartload of memories from our good ‘Bachpan’.
And if I remember my childhood summer, the days when television sets were rare and one had to actually run door-to-door to call friends to play.
And one of the best things was as kids, we never really cared about the scorching heat or worried about getting tanned or sun burnt. We just wanted to have fun. And have a lot of fun with lot of goodies which is memorable for us now.
No matter how much our parents warned us, we'd still go after the roadside golas and pepsi colas and buy our favorite Kala Khatta and best part was that would fit our budget. Ahh, and how can we forget the train journey as our summer vacation and reading comics playing saap sidhi and ludo, and of course our most awaited destination the annual mela.
Bachpan ka summer was also meant to meet our cousins and friend specially those days, most of us did not have the luxury of an air-conditioned home. And if we were visiting our villages, we'd wake up to a power cut, sometimes in the middle of the night. Yes, there were little complaints but we never stayed bore or lonely, and we were actually happy. But now we can’t have that time back yet we can only remember and store in our treasure of memories , because life is all about moving forward isn’t it.
