KAKINADA: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy announced on Tuesday that enumeration of the flood-affected people has begun in several areas and collectors would submit their reports within two weeks of time.

After getting the reports, the government would provide flood assistance to them, the Chief Minister said. Jagan also said the state government would provide compensation to farmers for the crop losses and other damages they suffered for their houses etc. “The CM need not visit the flood-hit areas during the time of floods and he would monitor the scenes and give directions to collectors to offer relief right away and save the lives of flood victims and others, the Chief Minister said.

He visited areas like Burugulanka, Ganti Pedapudi Lanka, Arigelavaripeta, Udimudi Lanka, Puchakayalavari Peta and Vadrevu Palli in P Gannavaram mandal and Mekalavaripalem in Razole mandal of Konaseema district on Tuesday.  He interacted with the flood-hit people and he gave assurance to them a bridge linking the main village to the other villages. Works for the bride would begin in 3 months.

The CM  went to the G.Pedapudi Lanka village from G Pedapudi village by “punt’’ and later visited the islet villages by tractor braving the rains in the afternoon. "When a natural disaster, such as floods, strikes an area, it is the chief minister's job to guarantee that relief reaches the afflicted people." While undertaking such endeavors, there is no room for theatrics or PR stunts, he said.
